Plastic Materials Commonly Used In Plastic Mold Injection

Plastic molds are a tool to produce plastic products, and it is also a tool that gives plastic products complete structure and accurate size. The final plastic product is obtained by pushing plastic raw materials and plastic molds in injection molding in the injection molding machine.

Here are some commonly used plastic raw materials for plastic mold production:

We often say that plastic is usually a collective name. Generally, plastic raw materials are divided into general plastics and engineering plastics.

Plastic raw materials commonly used in plastic mold factories generally include ABS, PP, PVC, and PC. These materials are favored by most manufacturers because they have some prominent commonality. They are mainly manifested in the following aspects:

1. Easy-to-process injection molding mold parts are mostly made of metal materials. Some structural shapes are still complicated. In order to shorten the production cycle and improve efficiency, the mold material is easy to process into the shape and accuracy required by drawings.

2. High mechanical strength, strong resistance to impact, and no rapid decline in low temperature; good gap sensitivity, good resistance and degeneration, and will not fall quickly when the temperature is increased; ; Good abrasion resistance and low friction coefficient.

3. The gloss and accuracy of the surface of the plastic parts are directly related to the wear resistance of the mold cavity surface, especially when some plastic adds glass fiber, inorganic fillers, and certain pigments, they and plastic are plastic. The melt flows quickly in the runner and mold cavity. The friction of the surface of the cavity is very large. If the material is not wear-resistant, it will soon wear and damage the quality of the plastic parts.

4. Good electrical properties, which are less affected by temperature, humidity, and frequency changes.

5. High corrosion has corrosion effects on the surface of the cavity. This corrosion causes the metal of the cavity surface metal to erode and peel off. Therefore, it is best to use corrosion-resistant steel, or chrome-plating and nickel treatment on the surface of the cavity.

6. Low-temperature-40 degrees Celsius, acid, alkali, salt, oil, and water.

7. Good size stability In injection molding, the temperature of the injection mold cavity reaches above 300 ° C. For this reason, it is best to choose tool steel (thermal treatment steel) that is appropriately recovered. Otherwise, it will cause changes in the micro-structures of the material, causing changes in the size of the mold.

8. Smaller shrinkage, wider molding process range; you can use coating, printing, electroplating, and other methods to perform surface processing.

9. In order to raise the hardness and abrasion resistance, the heating treatment is generally heat treatment for the mold, but this treatment should make the size change very small. Therefore, it is best to use pre-jet steel that can cut processing.

10. Good polishing performance usually requires good gloss and surface status, so the roughness of the cavity surface is very small. In this way, surface processing must be performed on the surface of the cavity, such as polishing and grinding. Therefore, the selected steel should not contain rough impurities and air holes.

With the continuous development of plastic technology in my country in recent years, the plastic molding process has also been continuously improved. It is believed that in the near future, plastic mold injection molding plastic products will be widely used in all walks of life.
